  1. I'm trying to trouble-shoot an application/winsock problem.  It would be
  2. very helpful if someone could give me more information about the
  3. getservbyname() call.  I have the Programming guide that explains how to
  4. setup the call.

  6. Qst1-Where is the table of names that this function uses for lookup(local
  7. or remote), if local, is it usually hardcoded.
  8.  
  9. Qst2-Where are the supported service names documented(this assumes
  10. information is local) ?

  12. Basically, I am trying to help a user get up and running paradox for
  13. Windows on top of some connection software.  His app complains that it
  14. can't get a service and the problem is in the getservbyname() function.
